ANIMALS
adaptation— A body part or behavior that helps a living thing survive
mammals— The group of animals with fur or hair on their bodies.
fur— The thick coat of soft hair covering the skin of a mammal
reptiles— The group of animals with dry skin covered in scales. (lizards, snakes, turtles, and alligators)
scales— a rigid plate which grows out of the skin of various animals (snakes, alligators, lizards)
fish— The group of animals that live in water and get oxygen through gills. They have scales and use fins to swim.
birds— The group of animals with feathers on their bodies and wings. Most can fly.
feathers— a flat slender growths that cover the bodies of birds
camouflage-- hide or disguise the presence of (a person, animal, or object) to make them blend in with their surroundings
amphibians— The group of animals with smooth, wet skin. Young ones live in water, and most adults live on land.
