ANIMALS

 

reproduce— when living things make new things like themselves (have young)

 

life cycle— changes that happen to an animal during its life

                           

tadpole— A young frog that comes out of an egg. It has gills to take in oxygen from the water

 

larva— Another name for a caterpillar

 

pupa— The part of a life cycle when a caterpillar changes into a butterfly

 

egg— an oval or round object laid by a female bird, reptile, fish, or invertebrate

 

frog— a tailless amphibian with a short squat body, moist smooth skin, and very long hind legs for leaping

 

adult— fully developed and mature : grown-up

 

young-- having lived or existed for only a short time

offspring— the descendants of a person, animal, or plant
