In the spirit of Sharyland ISD’s tradition of excellence, the Ruben Hinojosa Library will be a safe and inclusive space where everyone matters and everyone counts. We are committed to fostering a community of curious readers, critical thinkers, and ethical leaders who value diversity and lifelong learning.

Mission Statement:

Aligned with the mission of Sharyland ISD and Ruben Hinojosa Elementary, our library seeks to inspire, educate, and empower all students by:

  • Encouraging a lifelong love of reading for both enjoyment and learning.
  • Supporting campus and district academic goals through integrated, standards-based instruction.
  • Promoting an inclusive environment that reflects and respects all backgrounds, cultures, and identities.
  • Providing equitable access to resources that nurture curiosity, creativity, and 21st-century skills.
  • Teaching essential research, inquiry, and digital citizenship skills.
  • Partnering with families and community leaders to support student well-being and character development.

Through our programs and resources, the Ruben Hinojosa Library helps students reach their full potential and grow into responsible, informed, and compassionate individuals.
